Early Rivers Cherry – Very early English Morello, the first black cherry of the season.

Fruit Description: Medium-sized Morello cherry, round in shape. Very dark red skin, almost black when ripe. Dark red flesh, juicy and sweet, with a softer texture than bigarreaux. Rich and fragrant flavor.

Use: Excellent fresh eating cherry. Ideal for desserts, jams, and liqueurs. Its early ripening makes it the first black cherry available of the season.

Harvest: May, very early variety. Ripens before all other cherry varieties.

Storage: Fragile, to be consumed quickly after harvest. Keeps for 2 to 3 days in the refrigerator.

Pollination: Partially self-fertile variety. Production improved with a compatible pollinator (Burlat, Van).

Disease Resistance: Good general resistance. Vigorous and hardy tree, adapted to French terroirs.

History: Old English variety, selected in the 19th century by Thomas Rivers. Much appreciated for its exceptional earliness in European orchards.

Sold as a one-year-old whip, bare-root. 100% on-site production, AB and Nature & Progrès labels. Delivery January-March.
