Hazel - Butler

The Butler hazelnut is a variety that produces large, oblong, high-quality hazelnuts, appreciated for their rich flavor and consistent yield.

This hardy tree adapts to most well-drained, moist soils and prefers a sunny to semi-shaded exposure.

As flowering occurs very early, around mid-February in mild regions like Brittany, it is necessary to promote pollen transmission through the proximity of the plants and wind transport. And encourage wild pollinators such as bumblebees and mason bees.

Cold-resistant, it thrives in temperate regions and produces its fruits starting from the third year. Hazelnuts, harvested in autumn, offer excellent storage potential and are suitable for both fresh consumption and artisanal processing.
