🍎 Fruit description
A large apple, round, slightly flattened, and regular in shape. The skin is smooth, thick, and a greenish-yellow color, well-washed and streaked with bright red on the side exposed to the sun. The flesh is creamy-white, firm, crisp, very juicy, and fragrant. It has a well-balanced sweet-tart flavor with pleasant aromas and a lingering crispness.

An excellent eating apple, perfect for fresh juice thanks to its very juicy flesh. Ideal for quality cider. Also suitable for tarts and compotes where it retains its texture well. A versatile fruit appreciated for its versatility and flavor.
📅 Harvest
October. Harvesting takes place when the fruit easily detaches from the tree. The harvest is generally regular and abundant.
🏺 Conservation
Excellent storage life of 5 to 7 months in a cool, well-ventilated cellar. Best enjoyed from November to May. The apple retains its crispness perfectly and develops its aromas over time. One of the best apples for long-term storage.
🐝 Pollination
Self-sterile variety requiring a pollinator. Good pollinators: Reine des Reinettes, Cox Orange, Elstar, Patte de Loup. Mid- to late-season flowering. Excellent productivity.
🛡️ Disease resistance
Good overall disease resistance. Adequate resistance to scab and powdery mildew. Hardy variety that adapts well to different climates. Tolerates cool and damp climates well.
📖 History
Developed in 1944 at Ohio State University in the United States by crossing Jonathan and Delicious. Introduced to Europe in the 1960s. A modern variety prized for its flavor and exceptional shelf life. Designated the official apple of the state of Ohio in 1965.
