Badoual Plum – Mirabelle variety adapted to mild winters, ideal for coastal regions.
Fruit description: Small mirabelle-type plum, golden yellow skin when ripe, sometimes slightly reddish on the sun-exposed side. Yellow flesh, melting, very sweet and fragrant. Exceptional flavor, typical of the best mirabelles.
Use: Excellent table plum to be eaten fresh. Ideal for jams, pies, brandies, and preserves. Its natural sweetness makes it a fruit of choice for all preparations.
Harvest: August to September depending on climatic conditions.
Storage: Stores for 1 to 2 weeks in cold storage. To be consumed quickly to enjoy its full flavor.
Pollination: Partially self-fertile variety. Production improved with a compatible pollinator.
Specificity: Requires little winter cold, unlike Mirabelle de Nancy or Mirabelle de Metz. Perfectly suited to areas with mild winters such as the Brittany coast. Grafted onto a vigorous rootstock to compensate for its naturally low vigor.
Disease resistance: Good general resistance. Not very susceptible to common diseases.
Sold as one-year whips, bare-root. 100% on-site production, AB and Nature & Progrès labels. Delivery January-March.
