Belle de Louvain Plum – Large, purple, juicy quetsche-type plum, very productive.

Fruit Description: Medium to large plum, regular oblong shape. Dark purple, smooth, and shiny skin. Green flesh, firm and juicy, with a sweet and slightly tart flavor. Pit separates easily from the flesh.

Uses: Excellent fresh eating and processing plum. Ideal for jams, pies, compotes, and preserves. Can also be eaten fresh.

Harvest: August, early to mid-season variety. Very productive and consistent.

Storage: Stores for 1 to 2 weeks in cold storage. Good shelf life after harvest.

Pollination: Partially self-fertile variety. Optimal production with cross-pollination (Reine Claude Dorée, Stanley).

Disease Resistance: Good general resistance. Vigorous and hardy tree, well-suited to French terroirs.

History: Ancient Belgian variety, cultivated since the 19th century. Highly valued in family orchards for its productivity and fruit quality.
