The Conference pear tree is a classic and essential variety, appreciated for its reliability and excellent production potential. Originating in Belgium, it has established itself as one of the most widely cultivated table pears in Europe.

🍐 Fruit description

Medium to large fruits, elongated and slender in shape. Golden-yellow skin when ripe, often marked with characteristic small brown lenticels. White flesh, fine and juicy, with a sweet and slightly musky taste.

🥧 Use

An excellent table variety. Ideal for fresh consumption, desserts, and fresh fruit presentations. Can also be used for processing (compotes, juices).

📅 Harvest

September to October. Fruits should be picked before full ripeness and ripened at room temperature to develop their optimal flavor.

🏺 Storage

Good storage aptitude in a cold room (0-2°C) for several weeks.

🐝 Pollination

Partially self-fertile variety but production improved with pollinators. Excellent pollinators: William's, Beurré Hardy, Doyenné du Comice.

🛡️ Disease resistance

Good general resistance. Not very susceptible to scab and fire blight. Robust and hardy tree, adapted to various terroirs.
